Whistlingthorn Films is an independent film and TV production company based in London and Brighton.
Company directors Stephen Marsh and Lou Spain have over a decade of experience in feature films, short films, television drama, film education and corporate communications. See our producer credits.
Whistlingthorn Films has developed a wide slate of feature films, shorts and TV dramas with established writing and directing talent. Highlights include a six part drama series for the BBC and A Meeting in Seville, a feature film written by BAFTA-nominated comedy writer Paul Mendelson (My Hero, May to December, Losing it). This UK/Spanish co production is scheduled to go into production in April 2010.
Whistlingthorn Films is also committed to working with emerging talent. Following the success of Odd Shoe, we produced a second short, Off Season written and directed by Deena Lombardi, for Screen South/UK Film Council's New Cinema Fund in 2008, which recently premiered at the Encounters Short Film Festival.
We plan to continue to produce a range of films and dramas, in popular genres, that are intelligent, entertaining, and challenging stories with a strong contemporary resonance.
