About

Whistling Thorn Films was set up in 2005 with the development commission of a six-part TV series for the BBC. Following the production of several widely screened and successful short dramas with emerging film-makers for the UK Film Council, Whistling Thorn Films has been building a development slate of commercial feature films, working with established writing talent such as Deborah Moggach (writer of Working Title's Pride and Prejudice) and the BAFTA-nominated Paul Mendelson, creator of the BBC hit sitcom My Hero and, more recently, the Dreamworks Animation/Fox animated comedy series Neighbours from Hell.

Their slate includes several scripts based on best-selling books, including Changing Places by David Lodge, and Driving over Lemons by Chris Stewart. The latter is being adapted by Lucy Shuttleworth (The Secret of Moonacre, Men Don't Lie), and has Andy de Emmony (West is West) attached to direct. Driving over Lemons is a UK-Spanish co-production.
