Matchgirl’s strike drama being developed as 4-part TV drama series

Lou began her career producing and directing short films, including an early collaboration with Clio Barnard (The Selfish Giant). She graduated from the National Film and TV School with six short films shown at festivals around the world including and the RTS nominated One Eye (Liana Dogini & Lynne Ramsay) shown at Cannes.

After working as a script consultant for London distributors and production companies she went on to work in the development and production of independent feature films and single drama. Notably Lou worked on Dr Ox's Experiment with director Atom Egoyan (Captive, The Sweet Hereafter) on an opera for BBC2 /ENO and was Associate Producer on the feature film Among Giants, written by Simon Beaufoy (The Full Monty, Slumdog Millionaire), for Kudos Film and TV Productions

Lou went on to produce for Hallmark, and became the first Head of Studies for The London Film Academy (a Skillset Academy), before setting up a development slate of TV dramas and feature films for Whistlingthorn Films. She has worked closely with a range of writers developing original works and adapations for film and TV drama, including an adapation of the international best-selling book, The Bookseller of Kabul with Deborah Moggach. During this time she also executive-produced several short films backed by the UK Film Council, shown at festivals around the world.

Lou has recently written a 4 part TV drama based on the Matchgirls' strike of 1888. Richard Clark (Midwinter of the Spirit, Outlander) is attached to direct and is working on the development.
